Graphical Strand Pattern Input Wizard

The Graphical Strand Pattern Wizard allows for the input of either draped or straight strands in a graphical pointand- click environment. If on the Materials tab the straight strand pattern is defined, only one end template view is shown. However, if Draped Strand Pattern is selected, both end and mid beam sections/templates are shown. You can simply add a strand by clicking on a location (denoted by +) in the end template, and then clicking on a valid position in the mid beam section template. A connecting line between these two possible locations is also shown. If Straight Strands need to be added, select the check box and then simply click on the end beam section locations where the straight strands are to be provided. You can delete any strand simply by clicking on the same position/strand one more time. You can also select a group of strands in the end beam section by drawing a box (click the mouse once, keep the button pressed and drag) around some potential locations.

Instant visual feedback is provided and the strand pattern layout can be quickly and easily verified. Moving the mouse over any template location gives the coordinates of that position in a balloon (tooltips). The basic layout of the potential strand locations is marked with “+” symbols. This information is generated based on the end templates defined in the library. Typical graphical tools such as Zoom-in/out, Pan and Print are also provided. The Print button prints a high quality image that conveys the strand pattern information graphically, and would be useful to include in engineering reports, etc.. Debonding of strands is not yet available using this tool. The user would need to go back to the Strand Pattern and launch the Debonding screen by clicking on the Debond button.
